The best experiences are human-centered, and getting there requires intention. My design process involves stakeholder engagement that goes beyond usability testing. I opt for contextual inquiries, empathy mapping, and affinity diagrams to make design choices that truly provide users with the most value. I've found that keeping users engaged in the design process leads to a more meaningful end-product and often uncovers areas for future opportunities.
business-oriented
The business is never the only stakeholder, but I always make an effort to consider if and how my design is meeting business needs. My job is to bridge the gap among stakeholder groups: business leaders and the many other users who all have different goals and perspectives. By collaborating with various stakeholders, I can uncover inconsistencies in a current process and hopefully provide a more seamless final solution.
